Are Paternity Tests Admissible in Court?
If you need a legal DNA testing, you are required to bring valid photo identification with you to the appointment (Mother and potential Father). Each test takes about 15 minutes to administer, and chain of custody procedures (meaning the legal paper trail) will be followed. Home collection kits aren’t admissible in court, so please keep this in mind when deciding which option is best for you.
What to expect before a DNA paternity test?
Paternity tests use a cheek swab to collect a DNA sample from the potential father(s). They’ll use a cotton swab to collect cheek (buccal) cells from the inside of your mouth.
One hour before the cheek swab, please avoid:
Brushing your teeth.
Chew gum/mint/candy
Using mouthwash.
Putting in dentures.
Smoking tobacco or Marijuana or using chewing tobacco (dip).
The above may affect the quality of your cheek swab and service will not be refunded
